Self – awareness and inner freedom are aspirations whose structure depends on the natural nugget of self, but is not predetermined. The ego can form a world where one imprisons oneself by losing one’s essential individuality. This happens when mistrust is born ar, the other way round – when there is a lack of self-confidence. The ego enables us to perceive the things of the world, to coordinate one’s behavior towards it, but by overestimating oneself in environmental contexts, believing in the greatness and significance of one’s power, one’s achievements get “rusty” and the crown of honor withers.
