Paulius Rukas

Paulius Rukas (born in 1977 in Klaipėda, now based in Vilnius) started his career in 2013. Since then, he has been actively participating in festivals and educational events held both in Lithuania and abroad. In 2016, the Jewellery School Vilnensis awarded P. Rukas the first category certificate, in 2017 he was awarded with the second category certificate and, in 2019, the third category certificate. P. Rukas is a member of “Pajauta” (Club of Experimental Archaeology) since 2017. In 2019, the artist started teaching at the Jewellery School Vilnensis.

Since 2015 silversmithing and bronze casting workshop, Vilnius, Lithuania.
2015. Européennes Médiévales de Bitche, presentation Baltų juvelyrika in Bitche, France.
2015. Presenting a costume of a Curonian of the 8th century — the reconstruction won the 1st place in the competition at the “Centrum Słowian i Wikingów Wolin Jomsborg Vineta” in Poland.
2015. Together with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Spain held a presentation of Baltic costume and jewellery at La Navidena Feria Internacional de las Culturas at the “Matadero Madrid—Centre for Contemporary Creation” in Madrid, Spain.
2016. Lecture on Curonian costumes and jewellery of the 8th—12th centuries at “Saula Viking Winter Camp” in Estonia.
2016. Personal exhibition “Smeigtukai”, reconstructions of triangle and cross-shaped pins in Vilnius, Lithuania.
